Brother Peter Burke, the Australasian head of the St John of God Order, has been re-elected for another three-year term. He is best known in New Zealand as frontman for the Catholic order in its dealings with historic sexual abuse complaints related to its former Christchurch boys' home, Marylands. The order has paid out more than $4 million to 56 men allegedly abused as boys at the school. Two brothers, two former brothers and a priest face sex abuse-related charges.
