The Crown case against a
top policeman and two former colleagues over historical rape allegations has
closed. Evidence from 44
witnesses have been presented over the six and a half days. Assistant Commissioner
Clint Rickards and former policemen Bob Schollum and Brad Shipton are accused
of sexually assaulting Louise Nicholas in Rotorua more than 20 years ago. This week the High
Court heard from five witnesses whose identities and evidence have been
suppressed. Rickards' lawyer, John
Haigh QC, will begin the defence case this afternoon. |
