Suspended top police
officer Clint Rickards remains defiant about wearing his uniform to the first
day of his trial on sex abuse charges. The Assistant
Commissioner concedes he knew suspended officers are not entitled to wear the
uniform. Rickards is continuing
to give evidence in his defence against Louise Nicholas' accusations he raped
and sexually assaulted her in the 1980's. Under cross examination
about the uniform incident , Rickards said for the last two and a half years
he has been subjected to biased media attacks. He said the reason he
wore the uniform is because he is proud to be a police officer. |
