The defence for John Dewar has
resumed cross examining Louise Nicholas. The former head of the Rotorua CIB
faces four charges of attempting to obstruct or defeat the course of justice,
in relation to Mrs Nicholas' complaints of rape against police officers. Justice Hansen has ruled the trial
can continue with 11 jurors after one member who became sick yesterday
afternoon was too ill to resume her duties this morning. Defence counsel Paul Mabey QC has
been cross examining Louise Nicholas over statements she made to a police
enquiry into Mr Dewar's conduct. He is highlighting passages that Mrs
Nicholas now says are inaccurate, even though she signed the statement at the
time. |
