John Dewar Evidence has been given at the
trial of former Detective Inspector John Dewar that he had group sex in the
company of another officer he claimed later he knew only from work. Dewar is on trial at the High
Court in Hamilton charged with obstructing or defeating the course of justice
between 1993 and 1995 over his investigation of historic sex allegations
against police. The Crown alleges Dewar suppressed
allegations by Louise Nicholas made against three men including former
policeman Brad Shipton. A woman gave evidence yesterday of
having group sex with Shipton and a man he introduced as his friend Dewar,
saying she came forward after seeing a 2004 TV interview where Dewar said he
had no close personal relationship with Shipton. |
