A woman has told the
High Court it is "absolute rubbish" that she agreed to have sex
with five men she accuses of raping her in 1989. Four men on trial for
the alleged attack claim the sex was consensual. The woman has told the
court she was lured to a lonely beach hut, where five men raped her one by
one. She says when she saw
five men present she thought, "I'm a goner". The court heard one of
the men also repeatedly sexually assaulted her with a foreign object, to the
point where her pelvis ached and she had trouble walking. She says the men were
standing around her grinning, "like a pack of dogs looking at raw
meat". She says she made a
conscious decision to comply, because the men were an unknown quantity, and
she did not know whether she would be bashed or worse. The 37-year-old says
the same accused made intimidating visits to her several times after the
alleged offences. She says the clear
implication was she should not make a complaint, because it would not be
worth her while. The woman did not
complain to police until last year. |
