Another of the accused
men has taken the stand in the High Court trial of four men who allegedly
pack-raped a woman in Mt Maunganui in 1989. The 47-year-old also
denies abducting and raping the woman. In opening his client's
case, lawyer Bill Nabney told the jury the accused is in the dock as an
innocent person. Mr Nabney says all the
sexual activity was consensual, and after the event the complainant invited
his client back to a motel where they had sex again. On the stand, the
47-year-old described the chemistry between himself and the woman, and how
they were both attracted to each other. He talked about a
meeting at a bar the night before, and was flattered when one of the
co-accused told him she had "the hots" for him. |
