Accused man breaks down

One of the accused men has broken down in tears while giving evidence for a second day in the High Court trial of four men charged with pack rape.

The men deny the alleged rape and abduction of a woman in Mt Maunganui in 1989.

The 47-year-old accused has this morning been under cross examination from Crown prosecutor Mark Zarifeh.

Mr Zarifeh had been challenging him on an incident of oral sex in the deserted building where the alleged incident took place.

The accused replied he can go to his last living breath knowing he did not do anything wrong.

Later he went on to say this whole thing has devastated his life and everyone in it.

At this point he started crying, prompting Justice Ron Young to call a short adjournment
