Not Guilty Part 1. Sharon Shipton

They left court in all manner of ways after the not guilty verdicts. Clint Rickards walked out the front doors claiming vindication and reinstatement; Bob Schollum and Brad Shipton left in a prison van, returning to complete their sentences for an earlier rape conviction. Louise Nicholas, whose own claims of rape were rejected a year ago, again left stunned and Sharon Shipton, the woman accused by the prosecutor of lying to cover for her husband, left by the back door where she spoke to Michael Holland.

Not Guilty Part 2. Rickards Reaction

The defendants and their families were obviously relieved today, especially Clint Rickards, the man once destined for the top of the New Zealand Police force. Rickards and his former fellow officers were found not guilty of kidnapping and violating a 16 year old girl with a bottle. It was a case where certain facts were kept from the jury and the public, in particular the fact that both Shipton and Schollum were already serving sentences after being found guilty in a previous rape case. Today's case is the third involving Shipton and Schollum and the second for the Assistant Police Commissioner who is now demanding his job back.

Not Guilty Part 3. Louise Nicholas

Mark Sainsbury talks to the woman who started it all, Louise Nicholas, who's been through all of this herself last year. She was in Auckland to hear the result of this trial.
