Rickards, Shipton, Schollum - Verdict Not Guilty |

After 11 hours of deliberating, the
jury in the trial of suspended assistant police commissioner Clint Rickards
and former police colleagues Brad Shipton and Bob Schollum has returned its
verdict. The men have been found not guilty
on the kidnap and indecent assault charges laid against them in relation to
allegations involving a 16-year-old Rotorua girl in 1983 and 1984. In her summing up yesterday,
Justice Judith Potter told the jury to put aside anything they had heard
about the case outside of the court. Last March, the men were acquitted
of raping Louise Nicholas also in Rotorua in the 1980s |
