ACC fraud detection costly
ACC is spending more on catching fraudsters.
Figures released to the Waikato Times show ACC spent $271,023 on prosecuting fraudsters
in 2002, but last year that jumped to $507,657.
Figures obtained by the Times show the cost of ACC fraud has been increasing
since 2001.
In the year ended June 2001, ACC was aware of $988,773 worth of fraud, but by
the year ended June 2003 that had jumped to $1.149 million.
