A 15-year-old Wanaka girl who told police she had been accosted and
raped in Nelson has been referred to Youth Aid for making a false complaint. Detective Sergeant
Kevin Tiernan said police received the girl's
complaint about 1am on Friday. Mr Tiernan said the girl
told police she had been to the movies and went outside for a cigarette. She
said two men accosted her and took her to the Collingwood St bridge, where
one of the men had raped her. Three detectives worked
on the inquiry during Friday before the girl admitted it wasn't true. |
