A 17-year-old woman who
claimed she was sexually assaulted by two men on a mountain bike in a Nelson
park has been charged with making a false statement to police. The Christchurch
teenager had claimed she was attacked in Tahunanui as she was walking to a
motel after drinking with friends. She was reinterviewed
on Friday by police who found her complaint to be false and that she'd
actually been with her alleged attackers earlier in the evening. Police say they've
charged the woman as a lot of time went into the investigation. They're also warning
people to look out for each other over the festive period to stop people
drinking too much and then doing things they regret. |
