A Wellington woman has been
charged over what the police say was a false complaint that she was abducted
and sexually violated. The woman told police that two men
in a black four door car abducted her from Berhampore on Wednesday. However after investigating the
complaint the police have charged her with making a false statement. Detetive Brendan Mears says false
statements of this type are rare, and it is an isolated case. The 26 year old woman will appear
in the Wellington District Court next Wednesday. |
