Bus driver arrested for making false complaint

A Christchurch bus driver who said he had been attacked has been charged with wasting police time, and will appear in court in two weeks.

The man told police he had been attacked by a woman in her mid-20s in the Christchurch suburb of Templeton last month.

A subsequent hunt by police found no trace of the woman.

Detective Senior Sergeant John Rae of the Hornby Police says the man will appear in court on June the 14th.
