Napier police say they can not go
into too much detail regarding the arrest of a woman they have charged with
making a false rape complaint. The 21 year old Napier woman made the complaint
on Friday morning. Following an investigation, she was charged and will
appear in the Napier District Court on Wednesday The Sunday Star Times alleges the
complaint was made against 22-year-old champion jockey Michael Walker.
Detective Darryl Moore says the case is before the courts, so he can not
comment. He says every rape complaint is taken seriously and police resources
and time are spent carrying out extensive investigations |
