A Wellington
teacher accused of raping a young girl 10 years ago will stand trial on June
19. Details about the man, who is represented by Paul Paino, are suppressed.
He faces three charges of rape and one of assault on a girl under the age of
12 in 1996. Yesterday, Wellington District Court judge Bruce Davidson
remanded him on bail till March 28 for a pre-trial call-over. A hearing to
determine whether his identity should remain suppressed will be held in the
High Court on February 21. |
