Trial date set in school sex abuse case

A trial date has been set for one of the accused in the St John of God sex abuse case in Christchurch.

Fifty-eight-year-old Bernard Kevin McGrath is accused of offending against pupils at the Marylands School during the 1970s. He first appeared in court on indecency charges in May of 2003

His lawyer went as far as the Supreme Court to get the case thrown out, but McGrath will now stand trial in the High Court.

The case gets underway in February.
