The faces of two Roman Catholic
clergymen facing historical sex charges can no longer be shown in the media. The suppression was ordered when
Brother Rodger Moloney and Father Raymond Garchow appeared in the
Christchurch District Court this morning. They were flown to New Zealand last
night after they lost a three year battle to remain in Australia. The two men were also granted bail
subject to several conditions. Maloney and Garchow face charges
relating to allegations of sexual offences between 1971 and 1980 involving
boys at the former Marylands School for the intellectually disadvantaged. |
