Police ask drug rape victims to lay complaints

Police say women involved in an alleged spate of drug rapes in Taranaki must make an official complaint if they want the culprits caught.

Eight women have approached Rape Crisis centres in less than a week after the attacks in Stratford and New Plymouth, but most have not gone to the police.

A gang of men is believed to be responsible for the attacks, which the women do not remember.

Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Coward says it is vital the women lay a police complaint.
