There are hopes the recent spate
of drug rape complaints in Taranaki will not put a damper on the Christmas
season. Hawera Rape Crisis has fielded a
flood of calls ever since nine women came forward complaining of being drug
raped last week. The Hospitality Association says
it has asked its Taranaki members to be extra vigilant. CEO Bruce Robertson says at this
time of year people deserve to go out and enjoy themselves, but while bar
staff always keep an eye out for danger, people are responsible for helping
keep themselves and their friends safe. |
