School teacher on sex charges
by Court Reporter

A Kapiti Coast school teacher will face trial for sexual assault on four former students he allegedly abused in class.

Michael Warren Neville, 47, faces representative charges of indecently assaulting the four girls -- all under 12 years -- over a three-year period from 1999. The name of the school has been suppressed.

Justices of the Peace Herb Yates and Robert Campbell ruled Neville had a prima facie case to answer. He was remanded on bail to a district court call-over on February 10.

In an unusual move, video-tapes of four female complainants were played to the court, but the contents of the tapes were suppressed.
