Mum gives evidence in sex abuse case

The mother of one of the complainants in the sex abuse case against a Horowhenua school teacher says her daughter adored him.

The man's trial continues today at the Palmerston North District Court.

Michael Neville faces charges of indecent assault in relation to four former students under the age of 12.

One of the complainants used to help Neville clean the school pool before class.

Her mother told the court she enjoyed it and liked to help the accused.

The girl claims Neville touched her indecently on one occasion when she was helping him in a book storeroom.

The trial could go into next week.
