A fourth man appeared
in the Tauranga District Court yesterday charged with rape and abduction
alleged to have taken place at Mt Maunganui 15 years ago. Like his three
co-accused, the 45-year-old was remanded on bail with strict conditions until
August 2. He was granted interim name suppression but Judge Ian Thomas said
that would be reviewed next month. The man is charged
jointly with three others of rape and detaining the victim with intent to
have sexual intercourse in January 1989. The others appeared in the Tauranga
and Napier courts on Monday. |
