Attached is a copy of a press release being issued this evening.
In viw of on-going Police inquiries and forthcoming prosecution action I am unfortunately not at liberty to say a great deal more at this time.  I can however say that both myself and the Ministry of Education were briefed by NZ Police beforehand, and I am bound to agree with the action taken by the Ministry …….

Order Paper C10. - Closure of Civic Child Care Centre.
It was agreed that the action taken be ratified including specifically:

·                Declining the opportunity to make representations after the suspension of the Centre's licence.

·                Putting staff on leave with pay for six weeks to 22 October 1992

·                Agreeing to assigning the lease to the Methodist Mission
